Starting school in Foundation Class
Each September, all children aged 4+ enter full time education . They follow the school dress code so that they assimilate more easily into the pupil body. The Foundation class has a full time, qualified teacher and a teaching assistant.
Foundation children go into school in the same manner as older years from the main school playground, accessed by the side gate. Children line up for class at 8:45 am.
Children should have a full, named PE kit in school. PE bags can be bought from the school office. Most children like to have a Holbrook Primary book bag and this can also be bought from the office.
For any payments to school cheques should be made payable to SCC Holbrook Primary School.
Bringing toys in from home can cause problems in school. Please tell your children to leave them at home. On Fridays, for Show and Tell (normally held in the afternoon), children may bring in something special to show their classmates and teacher.
Foundation children have books to take home and share with their parents. They also have reading records for parents to record any reading heard, and for teachers to make note of progress.
Foundation children have fruit or vegetable snacks during the day and milk. They are also all eligible for universal free school meals. Please note no sweets, crisps or biscuits are allowed
