Digital Leaders meet weekly to learn new skills and explore different programmes that support their own development, while also helping other year groups improve their Computing skills. One activity included each Digital Leader inviting a KS1 pupil to join them for a shared session, giving both pupils the opportunity to learn from each other.
The Digital Leaders have also discussed and shared ideas for teaching unplugged Computing lessons, which were then passed on to teachers. They have worked with Micro:bits, learning how to code them to create step counters and thermometers.
As part of their development, the Digital Leaders were invited to attend an Introduction to Physical Computing session at BT Adastral Park. During this visit, they had the chance to try out a range of technologies, including Edisons, Micro:bits and CrumbleBots. They also visited the BT showcase area, where they were introduced to new technologies that BT is developing to support life now and in the future.
