Half Term Fun - 25.5.20

Happy Half Term!

Hello Year Two,

As half term approaches and a time to take a rest, I would like to say a HUGE WELL DONE to you all for your home school work over these past few months.

I have seen and heard about some incredible learning taking place at home, both using the home learning plans from the school website and activities you have come up with yourself. The highlight of my weeks have been hearing all about these! From the incredible baked goodies, to the creative builds, to the regular maths activities and wonderful written pieces, to the super fitness sessions taking place, you have all had so many wonderful learning experiences to share with me.

So from me to you, I would like to say thank you for your hard work and ...

Year 2 Thank You Challenge

Is there someone you can think of to say thank you to? Maybe a member of your family who has been helping with your learning or a friend who has made you laugh during your face time chats? Perhaps someone in the community who has helped in some way, like the delivery person, the post person, a shop worker or someone else?

Could you write a letter or create a poster to say thank you to someone over half term?

Half Term Ideas

Below are a selection of activities you might like to do over half term. Perhaps you could pick 5 things to do over the next week and we would love to see some updates on the blog too!

Get busy, get creative and take some time to relax...

Make your own ice cream.

Did you know you can make homemade ice cream in a bag in less than 10 minutes with just milk, salt and ice? You don’t even need a freezer!!

This awesome kitchen science experiment for kids involves lots of interesting chemistry and you end up with a great tasting dessert at the end!

You could try milkshake, milk or half cream and half milk, you could add different flavours or small pieces of fruit - I wonder which will be the tastiest!? Have fun x
