Session 1 - I can make 3D models
Following on from last week's work on shape, today you will be making your own 3D shapes. Use the printed 3D shape nets below to make the following shapes:
If you have no access to a printer you could draw them or have a go at using your own construction materials such as lego, stickle bricks, magnetic building tiles and sticks or simply some straws and playdoh
Can you describe your shape using edges, faces, vertices and curved surfaces?
Why can't you create a sphere or a cylinder using this technique?
Reasoning and Problem solving questions:
You could draw and colour a different constellation onto each face of your cube and use it as a die for tomorrow's activity!
