Our Green Gang

This year’s Green Gang

Our Green Gang is a passionate team of young eco-leaders and gardeners.  Led by Mrs Johns, they play a vital role in shaping our school’s food culture and environment. Working closely with our school chefs, they help decide what goes on the menu — ensuring fresh, seasonal, and sustainable choices for everyone.

Out in the garden, the Green Gang grows a variety of vegetables in our school’s very own vegetable plot, learning how food is cultivated from seed to plate. They’re also the creative minds behind our beautiful Bee Line Café, a vibrant garden space designed to attract and support pollinators. The team continues to care for this special area, planting new flowers and maintaining a haven for bees and butterflies.

Through their hard work and enthusiasm, the Green Gang are helping our whole school community learn how to live more sustainably — one plant, one meal, and one buzzing bee at a time! 🐝💚

Our Projects for 2026

For 2026, Green Gang is on a mission to help our school reduce food waste. Over the course of a week, the group carefully weighed the amount of food thrown away each day to understand just how much was being wasted. Using what they learned, the Green Gang then led a school assembly to educate everyone about why it’s important not to waste the food on our plates. By raising awareness and encouraging thoughtful choices, the Green Gang hopes to inspire the whole school to make a positive difference for the environment. We will also continue to plant bulbs, sew seeds and maintain plants those that we planted last year to encourage pollinators to our Bee Line Cafe.
