Literacy

This half term we will be working really hard to learn all of the phase 2 graphemes and phonemes. We will begin to blend these into words and write them using the correct letter formation. Please keep your eyes peeled for our phonics workshop that parents and carers were invited to attend.

We are reading our texts with a focus on retelling stories, talking about characters feelings and predicting what may happen. We will also be focusing on learning and using new vocabulary during these sessions.

After half term, we will focusing on applying our phonics to writing and begin to learn some digraphs. Please keep an eye out for new sound and word mats in your child’s reading bag and target stickers inside to help you focus your child’s support
